Lancaster - Amish Country

After the Flyers losing last night (biggest load of shit) and not getting back until late I got up early this morning a bit dazed for my journey to Lancaster County.

So I thought I was being picked up by a tour group or something but it turns out I was the only person going on the tour. I got given all the info and put on a train out to Lancaster County. I have to admit I fell asleep as soon as I got on the train but when I woke up I got to see a brief snow shower!

Once in Lancaster I was picked up in a cab which had already been arranged for me... VIP service or what!
Now in this 15 minute cab ride I had a very interesting conversation with the driver.

The driver is what you would call a stereotypical redneck, gun toting, racist American. He told me he is going to vote for Trump just because so that should explain it all.

We talked about heaps of different issues going on in the world at the moment but mainly about the Presidential race and gun laws. I didn't agree with pretty much anything he said but was definitely intrigued by his view points... especially how he believes if everyone carries a gun in America the terrorists won't attack.

After a very "educational" cab ride I finally arrived out in rural Lancaster.

Here I watched a movie about Amish culture and took a tour of an Amish homestead which was pretty cool.

Whilst waiting for my bus ride around the farmlands I ate the most delicious food ever... see attached photo!

The bus tour around the country side was just magnificent. Words don't really do it justice so I'll attach the photos.
I learnt alot about the Amish way of life and how certain Amish people are allowed to use certain modern technologies but it all depends on which church district they belong to.

We got to stop at a families house, and they also had a store on the property. Needless to say I spent a decent amount of money here but the things they had made were just gorgeous.

I could have spent a good couple of days up in Lancaster, so I know I will be definitely coming back some day to do so.

Anyway enjoy the photos and I will post again soon... I'm a couple of days behind now... oops
